NEVER HAVE I EVER....colored my hair!

Ok guys and dolls! Believe it or not, I have never colored a single strand of hair on my head! Yes I know it's 2K10 and I know that some of you have at least highlighted, low-lighted, or dyed your hair but not little ole me. Why (you may ask)? Hmmm...I just never got the urge to try a scientific experiment on my head and to be quite honest, I am afraid that I will fry my hair. You see the texture of my hair is what you call "fine" hair. In other words, my hair is thinner and not as strong as thicker hair so too much chemical processing could actually damage my hair (sigh). I always said that my hair texture was a gift and a curse but I guess I can't curse color until I try it. I don't even know where to begin with color choices or should I try highlights first (oh goodness *scratching my head)? The idea of coloring my hair makes me a nervous wreck but I'm trying to do my research on it before (or if) I decide to take the plunge. So my blogger friends....why did you decide to color you hair and what color did you choose? Have you had any "bad" coloring experiences?

Signed,

Never have I ever colored my hair

  1. I might happen to be a hairstylist, so I might have some experience here...

Fine hair can totally be colored, you just have to be more careful with it. Find a stylist who knows what she is doing and start with a few highlights that are only a bit lighter than your natural color. Tell her you just want some more dimension, and that you are concerned about your fragile hair. She should know just what to do. Good luck!

  3. I've never died my hair either! I get relaxers so I'm terrified of doing any additional unnecessary damage. I would definitely do something rebellious though. I'm thinking purple highlights! ;)
