What's with the moustache movement?

I know I have been out of the blogosphere for quite some time; however, I’m seriously confused with the mustache accessories movement that’s going on right now. Everywhere I turn, I see moustache rings, bracelets, shirts, socks, shoes (well… the graphic is on it), tattoos (yeah…it’s real) etc. but I don’t get it. Is there some sort of joke going on that I don’t know about? Enlighten me folks because I’m so confused. If you are into the trend, what’s the most interesting moustache piece(s) you own?

P.S. How many guys are raising awareness about prostate cancer by participating “No Shave November”? Staches for a cause…now that makes sense!
