Top 10 Most Bizarre Fashion

After finding these "fishy flops" I decided to seek out more bizarre fashion items out there. Of course, I found something on YouTube so I just had to share. By far, the #1 bizarre fashion in this clip had me laughing so hard. The interesting thing about this video is that I noticed some of these "bizarre" fashion styles would actually be embraced as "eco" fashion now (this video looks ancient like it was made in the 90's or something lol). HAPPY E A R T H DAY!!

*Throws recycled confetti* HAPPY EARTH DAY EVERYBODY!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this eco-friendly day! What have you all been up to on this green day? Although, it is rainy around my parts, those of you that have sunshine in your area...live it up today!!! And remember to recycle responsibly...now go out and be great planeteers :)

P.S. I loved loved LOVED Captain Planet back in the day! I think this show first inspired my love for caring about the planet. Hmmmm if only there was a Captain Planet marathon on tv today...it's just so appropriate, don't you think?

Today marks the eve of Earth Day and so many exciting things are going on! So how are you celebrating? Well if you haven't got anything on your "green" agenda, make sure you do something to celebrate the Earth :) The Earth has been kind to you since the day you were born so why not reciprocate the same gesture! Make a pledge today! The Earth Day Network has an amazing campaign going on called "A Billion Acts of Green" and they need your help! Go to their website HERE and make a pledge to do something better for the Earth. It's not just for Earth Day but the campaign will go on into next year and they are trying to make their goal of a billion acts of green (seems like a lot of work right? WRONG!). Help them meet their goal...every little bit counts! So what are you waiting for! Pledge your act of green now...

P.S. Celebrate Earth Day with Starbucks! They are giving away FREE coffee or tea (hot, iced, or brewed) TOMORROW!! Bring your own cup to Starbucks (remember we are trying to be eco-friendly) if you want your free cup of joe!

Sustainability is SEXY...Environmental That Is!

If you don't know by now, it's EARTH DAY WEEK *throws recycled confetti*! Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22 but I have decided to celebrate it all week long (and on) because I think it's sexy to save our planet. I mean come on...this is where we live so it's our responsibility to maintain it if we want the Earth to live long and live strong. So you are probably wondering, what does Earth Day have to do with me?....EVERYTHING!!! Each and everyday of your natural born life you depend on the Earth for your survival. From the food you eat to the clothes you wear even the car you drive (yup it's true). Without Mother Nature, we would all actually... uh... "kick the can" (get it!). Well it's never too late to go GREEN! Here are a few simple tips that might spark your eco-creative fancy....

1) Reuse and be radiant!- Have a clothing swap with your favorite gal pals! Whether your spring cleaning or feeling rather cluttered in your closet, exchanging "gently used" clothes is great way to reuse old clothes instead of putting them in the garbage. What's even better is donating clothes to your local shelter or popular clothing organizations!

2) Stop getting nickle-d and dime-d! Bring your own bags!- To all of my Washington, DC readers (if there are any, let me know in your comment), you know you are getting charged for plastic/paper bags! If you haven't done so, start using a canvas tote that you can bring with you instead of getting charged for your bag. To those of you who aren't being charged, still make a conscious effort to start bringing your own totes for grocery & personal shopping. If you still use plastic bags, at least reuse it again!

3) Sharing is GREEN caring!-Got old magazines/newspapers laying around? De-clutter your home and bring them to the office break room to share with your co-workers. Or slice up your magazines/newspapers to create a vision board of your future goals! Don't forget to recycle your scraps!

4) Brittany Murphy said it best, "Rolling with the homies"- Carpool anytime you can! You are reducing your carbon footprint which cuts back on air pollutions :) Gotta love oxygen!

5) Paper, Plastic, Aluminum oh my!- Recycle, recycle and recycle these items! You'll be a cool kid on the block :) Oh and you can recycle glass too!! Owww...

Now that's what I call "sustaining the sexy"...don't you think?

It's APRIL! + Earth Day Love From Jay-Z

So why does it feel like the year is almost over? Crazy! Spring has been "the pitts" for my allergies AGAIN!?! Argh! AND it's been an annoying time of year because the bicyclists are BACK ahhh! Don't get me wrong! I'm all for lowering the carbon footprint *hugs a tree* BUT what I'm not a fan of is when bicyclists dominate the road like they are a car or something (go find a bike trail thanks, that's what they were made for) Anyhoo, I'm excited for warmer weather AND I'm excited for EARTH DAY (April 22). Although Earth Day is celebrated just for a day, I'm celebrating it the whole month with some trendy green news!!! To kick it off my month long celebration of the Earth, I decided to use the Jigga man himself. Yup! Rapper, Jay-Z has a little "green thumb" believe it or not (well not literally but figuratively). Check out the clip below which aired on MTV's 2006, Diary of Jay-Z Water for Life where Jay-Z explored the scarcities of clean water and poor sanitation in certain countries. Can you imagine waking up and not having clean water to drink, to cook, and to bathe? Can you imagine your life without a toilet? It may sound like simple items to you but to some people these things are a dream....Think about it!

Bolivian designer, Marion Macedo has got more than an avant-garde fashion eye, it seems she was also born with a "green-thumb." Her over the top creations are made out of PAPER AND RECYCLED MATERIAL. Whoever thought reducing, reusing and recycling could look so interesting? Question is...how do you put these contraptions on (scratching my head)? Does anyone have a clue?... Anyone?

Naturally, I know when you all first read the title of this blog you thought I was trying to be sexual but I'm sorry to inform you that's not the intentions over here (See Provocative Pillowtalk for that excitement dolls! *winks*). So I have a confession to make (*biting tongue*)...I have a slight obsession with the EARTH!!! Low key, I consider myself to be a "green goddess" because I have a true affinity for doing my part in saving the Earth. Therefore, I thought it was necessary to create a label on my blog that would specifically cater to my obsession with being green (hence the name "G"reen Spot or G-Spot). However, I want to take a fun approach with exercising my passion on different green initiatives (believe it or not there are MANY ways to play in the G-Spot world!) that we could all incorporate in our daily life. So I hope your feeling green today dolls because I do everyday!!!
